Wilmington & Western Railroad Trip
Children ages 4 through 13 years old will be going on a Fieldtrip to The Wilmington and Western Railroad on Tuesday, July 29th. The bus will be leaving at 9:00 a.m.

Swimming at University of Delaware Pool
Our School Age children will be going swimming at the U of D Pool on Tuesday, August 12th.
Don't forget bathing suits and towels!

Edu-Care Carnival
Our annual carnival will be held on Friday, August 22nd. Our school age children will be planning the activities for the 1 to 5 year old children.

New Spanish Program
Edu-Care is pleased to announce the addition of a Spanish program for our preschool and Kindergarten classes. A weekly, 20-minute lesson is given to all children ages 3-6. The children will begin by learning basics such as greetings, colors, shapes, numbers and a few songs.

NEW PRESCHOOL MUSIC PROGRAM
Edu-Care is pleased to announce that beginning on Tuesday, December 4, 2007, we will be providing a weekly music class as part of our preschool program. A 30 minute lesson will be given on Tuesday mornings.
Mrs. Yvonne Teachey, who is currently one of our afternoon Kindergarten teachers will be providing these lessons. Mrs. Teachey's educational background includes a Bachelors Degree in Music and Early Childhood Education, Specialized training in Instrumental Music as well as a Masters Degree in Reading and Learning Disabilities. She received her teaching license from both New York City and New York State. Mrs. Teachey has 50 years of teaching experience (9 of which has been at Edu-Care). Throughout these 50 years, music has been the highlight of her teaching career.
The music program being incorporated into our preschool will include the following: introduction to basic elements of music (melody and rhythm); movement to music; moods in music; introduction to musical instruments; singing; integration of other subject areas - songs learned will include teaching of colors, numbers, shapes, letters, nursery rhymes, seasons, holidays and more; preparation for the holiday caroling in December.
This program is going to be a wonderful addition to our existing preschool curriculum.
